We were working with the recent converts quite a bit and that was a lot of fun. But on Saturday we went over to the Zone Leaders and made some fufu for dinner as the zone was receiving transfer news. Of course we knew mine as I will be finishing my mission on Wednesday but sadly we found out that we are getting whitewashed. My companion is going to the mission home to be the new financial clerk. So.... it is fun. Yesterday was a sad day... it hit me pretty hard that I am going home and will no longer be here in Ghana. I have come to develop a great love for this place and the people here. Over the course of my time here there has been many ups and many downs but it sure has been some of the best times of my life. I am so thankful to have been able to serve my mission here in Ghana. When I first came I absolutely hated it here... it took awhile but as you take a look around, you can realize all the good that exists around you. The conditions here in Ghana aren't easy and I started in on of the worst areas in the mission, but it was good for me. It has helped me learn perseverance, patience, diligence, among others. I am far from perfect and I have much more room to improve, but I am grateful for how the Lord was able to help mold me here in Ghana. I know that I have been helped greatly here and that I am probably the most benefited from my mission, but I am so happy to see the change that occurred in the lives of those around me. Thank you for all the support that I had back home. I love you all and I am excited to see you all soon. Have a great week and take care. Yebeshia wai!
We have been blessed once again. The week ended in a bang as we had two baptisms on Saturday for Alexander Kelly and Job Addae. It was sweet to see both of them enter into the fold even as they were confirmed on Sunday. Alex is 25 and Job is 32. Alex I will have to say is probably the smartest investigator that I have taught while I was here in Ghana. He simply just absorbs what we give him and he was doing personal readings from the Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price as well. He is from Accra but is doing his national service up here in Assin Foso teaching at a Senior High School. A sweet guy... He came up to me after the baptism and said "Thank you Elder Walston for everything." It really touched me. At first he wasn't a really serious investigator but as we have been seeing him these last four weeks he truly showed genuine interest and he found his answer. I love that guy. And Job is someone who we contacted my first Monday here in Assin Foso. His local name is Kofi which is what I usually refer to him as. He doesn't speak a lick of English however. He is a farmer. He just simply has a genuine desire and wanted to be baptized from the beginning, the only problem was that he traveled away to a farm. But he is definitely committed. We will be working with these two a bit this week. But the work is sweet and it continues to go on. It is sad to think that this will be my last week as a missionary. The members started to find out yesterday and I already have three people who said that they will be feeding me. This week will be sweet and one that I am sure to cherish. I love the people of Assin Foso and the people of Ghana. Love you all and I hope that you have a great week as well!!!!
This week was a sweet week! We were blessed by the Lord for sure. This was our most productive week together here in Assin Foso. We were blessed to get 18 member present lessons this week. We have been blessed by the members help and support, especially one, Joyce. We were working hard this week and the work is finally paying off. We have been working with three investigators a lot: Kofi, Alex, and Evelyn. This Saturday Evelyn was baptized. It went very well and she was confirmed on Sunday. It was really good although she was extremely nervous. The other two, Kofi and Alex, will be baptized this coming Saturday. They are doing great. Alex is a teacher at a senior high school here in Foso and Kofi is a farmer here. They are great people. It was cool to see but in investigators class one of the people were saying stuff against our beliefs but Alex was setting him straight. It is cool to see the conversion some people come to have about the gospel.

Well.... ummm.... this week has been pretty rainny and pretty cold. I wish that I had brought a jacket or something sometimes but it is okay. I have been enjoying out here though! Especially with the fufu! Well... Love you all!!!!! Have a great week!

Hope this last week on May presented you many wonderful surprises. Our week here in Assin Foso was quite good. We tried to focus ourselves a little better on the recent converts and less actives this week as we felt that we hadn't been spending enough time with them. It payed off and was good. We also have one investigator who is doing great. Her name is Evelyn and she will be baptized on Saturday. She is from a part-member family. I am excited a lot for her. But other than her, there are a few others that we are working with but they are all having their own issues. But I think that it will all work out. Both Kofi and Alex are looking promising as long as Kofi comes back from his travels and Alex becomes less busy. But we are still doing work. We were able to proselyte our area for 60 hours this week which is the best I have done since the mission started keeping track. Oh... one other cool thing that I was able to do is that President had all the missionaries who are going home in the next three transfers come to Cape Coast and be instructed on staying strong till we finish. Which makes me think of a saying that I have hear, "Will I falter, or will I finish?" But yeah... it was cool to see everyone there. He had our groups set goals for what we can accomplish in the time before we go home. These next three weeks will end with a bang... I am sure of it.
This week has been good. It has started raining a lot more this week. We also had a zone conference which was pretty good. We were able to receive a few good instructions there. It was good. We were also blessed this week to be able to have one of our investigators, Kofi, who had traveled for the last three weeks return. It is so nice to be able to see him again. He is a sweet guy and he is already prepared.

But the week has been good. I love you all! Sorry the email is short. Love you all though!

It's May?Hey all! Hope that all has been well for you all! This week was rather good for us here in the great Assin Foso. We have been dealing with no water now for the last few weeks so they were trying to get a poly tank raised for us. So... we got it up lifted the tank onto the stand and realized that it was too small!!! That thing was heavy as well... so we took another two days trying to get everything fixed so that hopefully we will get some water soon and we won't have to continue fetching it bucket by bucket from the well. But that was all good. The work is going sweet here though. We have everything picked right back up. One sad part though is that our most progressing investigator, Kofi, has traveled for work for the last two weeks and we haven't been able to meet him. But we have been blessed with a handful of others who are doing quite well. One of them, Alexander, when we were discussing about the Book of Mormon more said that he had gone online and got the Gospel Library app and was reading everything... Pearl of Great Price, Book of Mormon and all! That was cool. He told us that he know that this is the truth. He is just a little hesitant about making a commitment. He is sweet. He has been coming to church for the last three weeks now.

So also on Friday we went on exchanges. Elder Gyansah came to be with me in our area. That was a lot of fun. He is a great elder and a powerful teacher. He is from Accra so he can speak the Twi and that was so nice to be able to meet the people and use it in the teaching. I really wish that I could speak the Twi fluently enough to teach and get my point across. Sadly I can only manage to understand what people are saying most of the time. But we did get this wonderful fufu from our Bishop's family as we were on the exchange. It was really good. You know, this last transfer or so I have only been eating Ghanaian foods as I want to eat it as much as I can while I have the chance. Fufu is a very heavy food and it can get you fat if you eat it too much. But sadly... I have eaten it that last six days... and not small portions as well and I am still loosing weight! Oh well... I guess I will come home very skinny then. But boy do I love a good fufu... it has been rather enjoyable.

Elder Ripplinger and I are enjoying it up here. One of our recent converts, Ernest, is in the hospital this week because of Malaria. Sad to see him ill like that. One member, Joyce has been helping us teach a ton. Almost every day she has been helping us teach. It is always greatly appreciated to have people who are willing to help with the work.

Well... I love you all and I hope that you have all enjoyed this email! Love you guys!!!!!

We had an adventure tyring to put up a poly tank. We haven't had running water in like 4 weeks so they put in a stand to help with things but when we lifted it we realized it was too big for the stand and that thing is very heavy. We had some welders come and fix the stand and now it is up.... not easy

Hope that you all had an amazing mother's day! I enjoyed talking to you guys on Mother's Day. :) It was nice! But this week has been a very good week. It was a big improvement from the previous week... it was actually probably our best week since I have been here in Assin Foso. But yeah... that took up quite a bit of our week... lots of teaching! But yeah... we have been working with members and bringing them every lesson as well which pays off in many ways. They usually feed us and it helps our investigators a lot as well! Win, win situation! But yeah... yesterday was sweet as we had a ward family home evening at our chapel. That was a lot of fun and we had a small number of people show up. We were supposed to watch a film about how the church came to Ghana but the DVD player didn't work. It was all good though... Bishop Adu-Gyamphi ended up just instructing us instead.

So.... I am a man of few words right now since I can't really think of anything else to say. but I love you all and I hope that you have an amazing week!!! Take care!

This week was good but it was a rather bit slow. But it was all good. We were still able to get a bit done this week. We did do some service this week with a lady who makes and sells bread. We helped her make the loaves. That was fun. They had made the dough and she just had big tins of the bread dough, both tea and sugar bread, and then she would cut pieces of dough and then we would roll them out. That was fun.

This week we were blessed by the members feeding us. On Wednesday we had the best kontumbre stew that I have ever had with yam. But we were blessed with food almost every day this week. One fun thing that we did with one of the members, with Joyce and the Abu family, is that we got some stuff together so that Sunday after church we could make fufu and all break our fast together. That was fun. Except the made us eat a TON. It was sooo god though so no complaints. On Saturday we had a Stake Meeting with all of the bishoprics. They want it so that the missionaries and the ward leaders work together more often. That was good. The only downside this week was that I was a little bit sick... I had some runny tummy pretty bad on Saturday, but once I got some meds in me I was as good as ever! Well I love you all!! Have an amazing week!

This week has been sweet! Lots of hard work and lots of fun. There has been this member family, the Abu family, who we have been working with a lot and one of the daughters was pregnant. Well this last Wednesday night she gave birth! That was sweet! It was funny to see thought as the tensions at that household were very high on Wednesday evening, but everyone was so happy on Thursday. They don't stay at the hospital very long here as they were only there for about probably 10 hours... but it was sweet! They haven't named it yet as it is tradition not to name the baby until it is at least a week old, but its Twi name, as they name according to the day born is Maame Ekua. It was cool to see. Another sweet thing that happened on Wednesday was that we had our Ward Council in the presence of an area seventy, Elder Davies. That was cool although our ward does seem to have some issues. It was sweet though and it was very good to receive some instruction from him on how to help the ward function better. Then on Friday was my companion's birthday! We had fun... we had agreed with this one man to go and help him at his farm but things ended up falling through. We still had a good time. It was a long good day as we didn't get back until 9:30 and ECG took power even though it should have been on. They have a schedule here where they have power for 24 hours and then they take it away for 12 hours but recently it has been more like 24 hours off and 12 hours on... oh well. It is good though. So instead of making him brownies of on Friday we ended up making them Saturday night which worked out. Sunday was a sweet day as well. We had one investigator who came to church, a Brother Kojo. He is such a sweet man and has a strong desire to join the church. The only problem is that he is staying with a woman who is very opposed to the church but he is solid. We have a few other people who are doing very well and I am excited for the upcoming months. One thing that I enjoyed was the sacrament again this week. I have seen how as you take more time to think about it that it will help you feel the spirit more. One thing that stood out to me was in the hymn we sung, number 191, it says "A broken law to satisfy." We have broken the laws of God, but Jesus Christ has satisfied those laws and the demands of justice. We are saved through him.

Well... I love you all and I hope that you all have an amazing week! Take care!!!!

This week was sweet! On Wednesday we had our interviews with President Stevenson and that was sweet. He tried to advise me on what I should do when I go home, but he somehow confused me a little more. I think that I will just leave it to when I get home to decide. But it was good.... we were instructed by the Zone Leader and by the Assistants on working more with members and the recent converts and less actives as that is how the most success will come. It was really good but the best part was that they let us watch Meet the Mormons. That was a really good documentary that had some good stories about different members of the church. It was really weird to see everything from back home though. It was sweet though. One of the other cool things that we have been able to do this week is that we have been working with one of the families in the ward quite a bit. Two of them are very active members but three are less active. We have been talking to them and trying to get them to strengthen their testimonies. One of the less active members even came to church this week. But it has sparked a lot of conversions even just between Elder Ripplinger and I. We have been talking about some of the things that we want with life... even families. We see so many families that are disconnected here in Ghana and that completely affects everyone involved. Family units are one of the most important things in this gospel. They can hold us together and help us to go forward.

One thing that I have been able to do a lot this week is to read my patriarchal blessing and that is something that I would recommend everyone to do. There is such power within and it has been able to help me greatly.

Another thing that I pondered deeply this week was as I partook of the sacrament I felt the spirit deeply. I pondered "Am I worthy to partake of the sacrament" So many times we just go on with life and we are just in the swing of things. Maybe we aren't doing anything bad, but are we striving to do better and on that constant quest of improvement and repentance. We must make sure that we are on that quest. I hope that all made sense.

The work here in Assin Foso is going well. We have one investigator who is doing very, Kofi. He doesn't speak any English but is a sweet man. He is a farmer. It is cool. We have to have a lot of help up here with translations as only about half of the investigators that we have speak English. Twi is the language here and since I spent the last 18 months in Fante land it is a little different but at least they are very similar languages so it isn't ridiculously hard to go back and forth. But it has been fun! I love the people here!

Well... I love you all and I hope that you all have a great week! Hope that you enjoy the pictures I sent! I had to catch up since it had been awhile since I last sent them! LOVE YOU ALL!!!

This week has been pretty good. Rainy season is starting to kick in as it has rained four of the last five days now, but that is all part of the work. It is nice because it cools everything down while it is raining, but when the sun comes back out it is just as blistering hot and more humid. The sad thing is that I am getting cold here too much when it rains. I guess that I have adapted to the Ghanaian weather too much. I had one of the members up here in Foso making fun of me because I was saying that I was too cold and it was one of the warmer days that week! I even had goose bumps. But it is all good. Not too much all happened this week. One of my investigators from Green Hill was baptized on Saturday, Leticia. She was the wife of a recent convert that we had been teaching and had all prepared for baptism. Sunday was pretty bad in way of attendance for church especially since it was our ward conference. It was an out right down-pour Sunday morning and so most of the people took that as an excuse of not to come to church. Only about maybe 60% of the people who came the previous week came yesterday. :/ But it was good! Afterwards we had two massive plates of jollof rice... MASSIVE.... it hurt my stomach but when they insist that you eat, you eat! Well I get to have my last interview with President this week before my exit interview... I am excited to be able to speak with him. It is always an enjoyable time! Well I love you all! Yebeshia!
This week has been a wonderful week. It is always hard to say good-bye especially to those that you love but Tuesday was full of saying good-byes and making sure that the sisters would have a smooth transition coming into Green Hill. It was good though... we had a little enjoyment from some of the members on Tuesday... lots of nice food. :) But then Wednesday was the crazy transfer day... took about two hours before I was up here in Assin Foso. I am here with Elder Ripplinger who is from West Jordan, Utah. He is a cool guy... he is taller than I and was a basketball player in high school. I think that we will have a good time up here in Foso together. We cover Assin Foso First Ward, just the two of us.... first time it is like that for me since my training. But Wednesday we went out into the area and met some people. My companion has only been here for six weeks so one of my big goals is to get us to know the members real well and be able to work with them effectively. That has been a bit of this week. It has been really hot here and none of the investigators were free either because they were doing things for Easter so we did a lot of contacting as well this weekend. But it was fun... I have really been enjoying everything.
Hey everyone!! How has your week been? This week has been quite busy trying to get the area ready for sisters and there have been some other programs as well. This week started of really good as we had a zone conference. President Stevenson instructed us and it was quite inspiring. He talked about how we can have 'astonishment' when we look back at the things that we will accomplish... how to have astonishing results. We looked at two examples: the people at the waters of Mormon and the people of Melchizedek. It was really good. Another highlight was on Friday when we were able to go to the Croffie's and help make a cement patio in the front of their house. That was a lot of fun hard work. I was so hungry that the fufu they gave us afterwards I ate all of mine and my companion's (since he doesn't really like fufu). Sooooooo good! It was fun. Then on Saturday the branch held a going away party for us. They pounded more fufu than I have ever seen in my life and they killed a goat for us. It was really nice. The sad part is that I started getting sick. It is a baptism curse... every time we have a baptism I get sick. Just kidding, but we had a baptism after that for Francis Ayensu. A sweet kid who we have been working a bit with. He will be a good member. But then that night we received transfer news and I will be going to Assin Foso to be with Elder Ripplinger on Wednesday. The only part of the mission that I haven't seen yet and I hear that the power and water isn't all that great. It is one of the more bushy parts of the mission. It will be fun though. You will get to hear my experiences from there next week! But yeah... then I woke up Sunday, still sick, but I lost my voice. I could barely speak and it comes out like a whisper. Kind of stinks trying to teach and talk to people when you can't really speak. But oh well... my voice is back today, just very very deep and I still have a runny nose. This week has been good though. There will be two sisters training in Green Hill next transfer. But yeah! Love you all and hope that you have a good week!

How has the week been? It has been an interesting week for us elders here in Green Hill. On Wednesday I was able to go back to Nkanfoa on exchanges again. This time I went with Elder Stoddard. We had a day full of walking and it was quite tiring but one cool thing that happened is that the elders there had been trying to get mutual activities started there and we had an activity where we played football with the young men. We were trying to teach them how to play frisbee but some crazy elder accidentally broke the frisbee. I felt bad that I broke it but we all enjoyed and had a good time. It was a very good turnout. It was fun to be able to be with the young men in Nkanfoa again. But then on Friday some bad news came. We found out that all four of us elders here in Green Hill will be transferred out of here on April 1. They are bringing sisters here next week so I have one more week in Green Hill and I will have one more area left. I will find out all of that news on Saturday. But the members were very sad to hear all about that. So were we the missionaries. But it is all well. This upcoming week will mostly be preparing the area for the sisters to come in and move on with the work that we have been doing these last few months. But we will have one last baptism before we go this weekend for Francis Ayensu. That will be sweet. But I love you all! The working is continually progressing! One step in front of another.
Keepin' busy!Hey everyone! How has the week been for all of you? This week has been pretty good for us. We were blessed this last week as on Thursday as we were able to visit with Elder Dube. He instructed us on a lot of things, but the main focus was to how to help the missionary work go forward the best. One interesting thing that he told us is that to be exactly obedient we should always study the Book of Mormon first. It is something that is so important for us. Elder Dube is the last person in the area presidency that I have been able to meet now. It was really cool. He is very different in person than I imagined. We also had a meeting with him of the zone and district leaders before the meeting that was very good and inspiring. But yeah... I was able to be on such a spiritual high and then Friday morning all ready to go I woke up early and went running with Elder Jensen and I rolled my ankle. So... I was out of commission for two days. I hurt my foot pretty bad but it is doing better now. It is just a little swollen and purple. It is all good though, because I was at least able to make it to the baptism that we had on Saturday. We had two baptisms on Saturday for Faustina and Priscilla. It was sweet. It was so cool to be able to see all the hard work that they have put in pay off. They are two sweet sisters. But yeah... Gotta go! I love you all and I hope that you have a great week!
Hey all! Hope that you week went well! It was quite busy here this last week. We celebrated Kristi's birthday here as it was also the birthday of Ghana with their 58th Anniversary of the independence on March 6th. I was also on exchanges that day with Elder Loader. That was a good day. I also went on exchanges on Wednesday with Elder Egunza. It is weird being with a different person every other day, but it is also cool to see different elders. It is nice that my companion and I will get to be together most of this coming week. I am pretty excitted for this upcoming week because Elder Dube will be coming to visit us here in Cape Coast on Thuirsday. That will be sweet to hear from him. But the work is here in Green Hill is going well. We will be holding a baptismal service this week which will be exciting. One of the people being baptized, Priscilla, even went to the branch temple trip that we had last month even though she could not enter. She loved just being able to go to the temple site and being there and lucky enough for her, the YSA here in Green Hill are planning a temple trip in three weeks so she will be able to go then. Then there are a few other sweet people we are working with. March will be a very good month. We are seeing a lot of the work we are putting in to pay off. We saw 9 of our investigators who we are working hard on come to church this last week plus two of the kids we are slowly working with. It was sweet. Sweet is the work!

This week I have been waking up a little early to go running and work out. I worked out 6 days this week and went running 5 days this week. It is nice having Elder Jensen in the apartment as he motivates me to do so. I gives me a boost during the day. I have also been making myself smoothies with the fresh fruit here. It is all good. Enjoying in Green Hill.

Well... I love you guys!! Have a great week!

Hope that everyone is keeping safe and out of trouble back home. This week has been good. We were on exchanges a lot this week so my companion and I only were able to spend four days this week together. :( But it was fun I am not complaining at all, because I was able to go with Elder McKeon on exchanges. It has been awhile since I was last with him, 6 months ago, but he is now the Zone Leader here in Cape Coast so we were able to be together. I went with him on Wednesday... it felt just like the old days back in Kojokrom. But on Tuesday I was able to instruct on time. Time is something that is so important and it is something that we can either waste away or something that we can use to our advantage. In the Missionary Handbook it encourages us to use it fully and wisely. This applies to each of us. We must make sure that we take advantage of the time that the Lord has given us. Then on Wednesday I went on exchanges with Elder McKeon and that went very well. We had a good day and were able to accomplish quite a bit. That was fun. Then Thursday was a rather stressful day as I was able to do five baptismal interviews and only one of them spoke English, and she was eight years old! But it was good. It is hard to get a good feel of their readiness when it is all through translations. But it was good and they were all able to be baptized on Saturday. Then on Friday I went on exchanges with Elder Tobler. We enjoyed a day in Green Hill together. I made him brownies and pizza and that was quite enjoyable. The on Saturday we went on exchanges with Elder McKeon again because there were some things that they had to deal with. But yeah... it was good. Then today, we had a District Activity where we got together and played some basketball at one of the parks here in Cape Coast. That was way fun, but I ended up getting a little sun burnt. And I am still as terrible as I ever was back home at basketball.... but I still enjoyed it and had fun.

Well... this has been my week! Love you all and I hope that you have a good week!

Hey all! This week was a busy week. We had to deal with the two elders whitewashing into the area. Elder Brown and I stayed together, but we received Elder Jensen and Elder Holman in the apartment and in the branch. Spent Tuesday getting to know their area and thenWednesday and Thursday we spent with them helping them to get to know their way around. Thursday we exchanged and I went with Elder Jensen to help him get to know their area. But this week I decided to cook. I made some brownies and chocolate chip cookies. Trying to be adventurous. :) But it all turned out pretty good, just I didn't cook the cookies long enough. But one really nice thing is that Elder Jensen has an oven so it makes it a lot easier to bake!

We have been really blessed these last few days in terms of the missionary work. We were able to teach 15 lessons in the last three days and we were blessed with 7 new investigators including a family. We have some really sweet investigators right now and things are going very well. I can't complain.

Well... I love you all! I hope that you have a great week! Sorry that this email is so short but I really can't remember what happened.

Love you all!!

This week was a rather busy week. On Tuesday I went on exchanges with Elder Lagaiti in Cape Coast. He has only been out for two months now but he is doing sweet. A nice elder from Samoa. His English is still improving small small but he was fun to be with. We had a choir practice with their ward and by the time we finished my voice was dead. I guess I was shouting too loud as I can't really sing at all. But it was fun. We enjoyed together. Then Thursday I was able to do a baptismal interview for the other elders in Green Hill. The only problem was that I had been running that morning..... so I didn't quite make it there and we had to go back to the apartment before I could proceed forth with the interview. But it went all good. He was a sweet and the interview went amazing. He spoke English very well and probably the fastest that I have seen a Ghanaian speak but it was fun. Then on Friday I went on exchanges this time in a threesome with Elder Egunza and Elder Chukwu in Cape Coast. That was a very good day as well. I was able to do two baptimal interviews for a mother and a daughter who were baptized on Saturday. Emmanuela and Gloria. It was so cool. But yeah... then yet another splits on Saturday this time with Elder Jones. But yeah... yesterday my companion was sick so we spent all day inside.

Yep.... I was cleaning ALL day today so I am very tired. Sorry for the shortness.... but I love ya!!

Hey everyone!! Hope that this week was good for you guys. This week started off pretty good... I found some honey-nut cheerios that were so good... but they were so expensive. It has been around 9 months since I was able to afford any cereal. It was nice though. But we had this really cool family home evening with a recent convert family. We watched the Restoration film. It was a very enjoyable FHE. Then there is this Less Active who hadn't come to church since 2006 and he has now come the last three weeks and we were able to have a really good lesson on Tuesday. He lives outside of our area, but we ran into him at a chop bar two weeks ago where he was working pounding the fufu and we were able to meet with him this last week. He is such a humble and nice man. His name is Ebenezer Mensah. I am so happy that he has decided to come back to the church. He said the reason that he left is that he didn't want to serve a mission such because of the pressure that he received he left. But that is all okay now that he is coming back. Then on Friday I went on splits again to Nkanfoa. This time I went with Elder Loader. We worked with one of the ward missionaries that I had worked with a lot when I was there. It was really cool. The cool part is that she leaves on her mission next week to Eneugu, Nigeria. I am excited for her to be able to experience a mission. The on Saturday we had a ward activity where Yamoransah came down and challenged Green Hill in some games, football and volleyball. It was really fun. I enjoyed the volleyball a lot mostly because the people playing football were playing a little intense. They were going at it and I didn't want to get angry at anyone. So I stuck with volleyball. Then Sunday was another good day. We had 10 investigators at church again, but 8 of them are a group of boys that we have been teaching probably around 14 to 17 years old. It has been good though. One sad news is that we found out that one of our investigators has been struggling with breast cancer and she said that she was told that she has hepatitis B. Keep her in your prayers, her name is Faustina. She is such a sweet woman. And then today we had a zone activity where we went to Fifa Pitch and played some football. That was fun to get some touches on a ball again. It has been way too long since I have been able to play all that much. We enjoyed that.

Well, on Sunday it was my privileged to be able to give a talk in Sacrament Meeting. I was able to talk about how we must choose and we must choose wisely. I have read a scripture in Alma 42:24 and the part that stood out to me is that none but the truly penitent are saved. I wondered what it meant to be penitent. It shares the same root with repent. Those who are willing to change themselves and become as God wants them to be. We must do the Lords will. That is how we will receive great joy and will be saved and receive eternal life. So we must choose... who will we serve? I encourage you all to make the good choice that will be joy into your eternal lives.

Well I love you all!! Have a great week!

How has this week been for you? It has been pretty stressful and eventful this week. There has been drama with the other companionship in our apartment and and it ended up this Wednesday by the one elder going on emergency transfer on Thursday... right now that elder is staying with the assistants. But yeah... on Tuesday we had a zone meeting where I was able to instruct about having the spirit with us. That was cool... I had a few members of the zone come up and bear experiences that they had had. It was a cool meeting. Then that evening we were blessed by being able to help one of our members, Bro Mensah, as he is confined to a wheelchair to be able to get to the chapel to get his temple recommend from the stake president. That was fun, but every time we get to the chapel I am sweating quite well as he stays about a fifteen minute walk from the chapel. I love that man though.. a powerful member. Then on Wednesday I was able to go to my old area again. I went on exchanges to Nkanfoa to be with Elder Cooper from Georgia. That was cool. It was fun to be able to work with some of the members that I worked with when I was in Nkanfoa. We were able to have a training for the Gospel Principles class while I was there as well and that was good. They had me teach on how to control the class. That was good. Another highlight of the week was able to visit one of our members in the hospital. On Wednesday morning he was stabbed by his brother I believe five times. He was not in good shape at all when we visited him, but it was a sweet experience. We were able to give him a blessing and he was crying by the end of it. He is a sweet member. The reason he was stabbed was because he was standing up for the values of the church. He is one of our branch missionaries. I hope he gets better soon. Well... I am out of time! But I love you guys!

Hey everyone! This week has been fun and eventful. I went on companion exchanges twice this week. On Wednesday I went exchange inside Cape Coast to Cape Coast 2nd ward and served with Elder Tobler. That was fun he is a sweet elder. We ended up only teaching one lesson to a Rastafarian from Nigeria named Commonwater. That was interesting to hear his views and beliefs. Didn't seem like he was too interested in sticking to one church but we will see what they will be able to do with him. Then on Friday we had district meeting and interviews with President Stevenson. I instructed along with the assistants and Sister Stevenson. That was fun but took so long... it lasted for about five hours. I instructed about repentance which was a fun topic for me to study and to learn about, especially as that is one of the most important aspects of the gospel that we have to apply in our lives. Then the assistants instructed on working with members and Sister Stevenson instructed on health and safety. She stressed on all the things that Dad has been making sure that I am doing... eating healthy, exercising, ect. It was good. But then on Saturday we went on exchanges again but this time I stayed in Green Hill and Elder Makoti came and joined me. He is from Botswana and is a pretty cool guy. He is the first African elder who I have seen to love play basketball. I hear that he was really good back home. But that was fun. Sunday we were completely blessed. We have these two members bring 4 new people to church as referrals and we had six other investigators at church. It was a pretty sweet church service. We have one of those investigators who should be baptized this coming Saturday and there are few others who are showing plenty of promise. We taught this one man, Enoch, who after our first lesson invited to be baptized and he said I am ready to be baptized right now. It was pretty cool. We were able to have another amazing lesson with one of the referrals who came to church, Priscilla, who is the cousin of a recent convert. She is powerful and she enjoyed church. Usually one of the biggest hold ups that Ghanains have with joining the church is that we don't sing, dance, and speak tongues like most Ghanaian churches do but she really like the church. Green Hill is looking promising.

This week my studies were focused on repentance. Repentance is such a wonderful thing as it allows us to change. One quote I liked however us that there is no royal road to repentance. It is the same for the all of us. No matter who we are, we all have to go through the same steps of repentance. But it has been provided as a way to become free from any burden that may plague us. It is blessing to us that is just waiting to be applied in our lives.

Well I love you all!!! Have a marvelous week!

Hey everyone! This week was rather slow. On Tuesday we had District Meeting but the chapel was locked and the Cape Coast elders were having a hard time getting the keys so that took an extra hour than we had planned. But that was all cool. We have some sweet elders who joined us this transfer. This Wednesday we had a meeting at the Aubra stake center where we were instructed a lot. That took all day Wednesday. Saturday was fun... the branch has a keep fit program every Saturday morning that we participate in. It starts at 5:30which is pretty early but it is fun. We will run for like an hour and then we will go and clean the chapel. That was fun.

So, one experience that really touched my heart. On Sundays we pick up some of the members but since he is in a wheelchair and we have to carry him up the 50 or so steps to the chapel I always walk in sweaty. Well, this week I went and sat down and this six year old kid, the branch president's son, Kelvin, came and took his handkerchief and starting wiping all the sweat off my face. I love that kid. He is such a sweet little boy.

Well... I love you all!! Hope that you have a great week.

Hey Everyone! Hope that you have had a great week. It has been a busy week for us. Tuesday we were saying goodbyes for Elder Barlow as it was his last day here in Green Hill. We were fed three times. Banku with octopus, then fufu, and then some jollof rice. I was so stinkin' full but it was nice. Then on Wednesday I sent Elder Barlow away and received my new companion, Elder Brown. He has been out just over a year by now. He is from Louisiana. Sweet guy. But yeah... life is going well. We accidentally flooded our apartment though. The pipe wasn't flowing but I guess someone left the tap on so when the water came back it started to flood the apartment. Luckily, Sister Davies was there to turn the water off for us. It completely flooded the kitchen and some of the hallway. But luckily it didn't get to our bedroom. Then yeah... the rest was just a good week of proselyting and of missionary work. We got to go and see the Cape Coast Castle today as a zone activity. I had already been before but I think that I was the only one in the zone who had. But it was definitely a cool experience to see again.

Well... I love you all and have a good week!!!

Hope that you have all had a good holidays and I hope that 2015 will bring to pass many great and important things. But yeah... it has been a sweet week for us here in Green Hill. We had a good new year. It made it a lot harder to see a lot of people though since people were busy doing this and that for the Holidays. But yeah... it has been good. I was able to go on exchanges twice this week. Once with Elder Loader and the other time with Elder Lagaiti. That was fun. I stayed in Green Hill both times. It was sweet. Elder Lagaiti is on his first transfer on mission and he is from Samoa... it was cool to be with him even though his English is not the best. Ghana is definitely not the place to learn English though. It was sweet though... he is cool and quite funny. But yeah... we had a ward activity on Saturday at the beach... that was fun. They all brought rice and we all enjoyed. We had some investigators who were able to come as well which was sweet. But yeah... we also learned that Elder Barlow is being transferred to Kwekuma over near Takoradi. I will be receiving Elder Brown form Louisiana. So in honor of Elder Barlow leaving, the two of us and Elder Chishinji wore our suits to church. It is the first time that I have worn my suit since the flight here to Ghana. But it was cool. It was a little warn but not really as bad as I thought it would be. Then today we were fed some nice fufu and cat with a palm nut soup. It was really nice.
Yep.... the internet was really bad today so I have kind of ran out of time but I love you all!!! Have a great 2015. Love ya all!
